Piercing Aftercare & Age – FAQ
Q: What is the legal age for getting a piercing in Denmark?
A:
- For most ear and body piercings, you must be at least 16 years old with parental consent.
- For nipple and genital piercings, the minimum age is 18.
- We always require valid photo ID before any piercing appointment.

Q: What is your recommended aftercare routine for a new piercing?
A: Our recommended way of healing for skin piercings (not inside the mouth) is:
- First 5 days: Clean your piercing twice daily with 0.2% Chlorhexidine Solution.
- Next 3 weeks: Use BPA After Care twice daily.
This combination routine helps prevent infection, reduces irritation, hydrates the skin, and supports a smooth, healthy recovery.
Why is this aftercare important?
Chlorhexidine disinfects and manages the early healing period, while BPA After Care calms and moisturizes the skin as it continues to heal. Following this aftercare helps your piercing heal comfortably and reduces the risk of complications.
Important:
These aftercare instructions are only for skin piercings (like ears, nose, navel, brow, etc.)—not for oral piercings (mouth, lip, or tongue). For oral piercing aftercare, please ask your piercer for specific guidance.
Q: When can I change my jewelry?
A: Do not change your jewelry until your piercing is completely healed (healing time varies by body
part). Ask us for personalized advice on timing!

Q: What should I avoid with a new piercing?
A: Avoid swimming (in pools, ocean, hot tubs), saunas, and excessive touching.
- Do not apply creams, makeup, or alcohol-based products on/near your piercing.
- Try not to sleep on a new piercing.
Q: What if my piercing gets red, swollen, or sore?
A: Mild redness and swelling is normal for a few days.
- If you have persistent pain, swelling, pus, or other concerns, contact us or a healthcare professional right away.
